The basic user experience
Unlike prior versions of Windows, Windows Vista provides two distinct user interface experiences: a 'basic' experience for entry-level systems, and a more visually dynamic experience called Windows Aero. Both offer a new and intuitive navigation experience that helps you more easily find and organize your applications and files, but Aero goes further by delivering a truly next-generation desktop experience.
Computers running Windows Vista Home Basic or those without the hardware needed to run Windows Aero will use the basic user interface. The basic experience has been updated and streamlined so you can work with your programs and files more easily than in previous versions of Windows. For example:
The refined Start menu helps you instantly find and start any program on your PC.
New Explorers and supporting features, such as integrated desktop search and Live Icons, help you work with your data in clear and effective ways.
The new Details and Preview Panes let you see what your files contain without having to open them.
The Windows Aero experience
Windows Aero builds on the basic Windows Vista user experience and offers Microsoft’s best-designed, highest-performing desktop experience. Using Aero requires a PC with a compatible graphics adapter and running a Premium or Business edition of Windows Vista.
A noticeably new element of the Aero experience is the translucent effect of Aero Glass, featuring dynamic reflections and smooth animations. The glass windows create an open, light"

How Much Does 'Free' Cost?
Posted by Shane Keats on February 3, 2006 04:12 PM
We are constantly amazed by the ingenuity of online scammers.
Here's one of our favorite examples. Try typing 'Firefox' into the search box on Google, Yahoo! or MSN. Now check out the paid advertisement for “FreeDownloadHQ.com.' On Google, you should see something like this:
Most experienced Web users know that the best way to download Firefox is to go to an aggregator like download.com or directly to Mozilla. Furthermore, savvy users know the difference between sponsored links and the main organic results to the left and below.
Not so for the casual user. Blame it on them if you must, but studies show that most users don’t know the difference between paid and natural search results. As far as they’re concerned, the highlighted ad is the “first' result.
Clicking that “first' result for Firefox brings you to this website:
In the Orwellian world of dark-alley Internet marketing, the word “Free' in the site’s title generally means you’ll be paying somehow – either with cash or spam or adware on your computer. After all, this “free' site just paid Google top dollar for my click. As always at SiteAdvisor, we ask how someone makes their money if they're paying to attract our business. Read on.
War is Peace. Freedom is Slavery.

Katrina's Online Response
It is said that tragedy brings out the best and the worst in people.
The same can be said of Hurricane Katrina, the powerful hurricane that devastated much of the US gulf coast. The storm's aftermath witnessed real life heroes rescuing their neighbors, searching for survivors, and delivering food and water. But, sadly, it also brought out the scammers, quacks, and fraudsters, who immediately used this tragedy as a new swindle.
The same is true in the online world. There are countless sites that are helping raise money for the victims. But then, there are possibly hundreds of others that are devoted to stealing money from them. These are taking the form of phishing attacks (that look like the Red Cross site), or just other websites with 'katrina' in their name in order to sucker money out of those who just want to help.
Here at FraudEliminator we are working diligently to classify these fake sites and block them. We also just released version 2.3.7, which now alerts you based on the age of every site you visit. Be careful, and if you're using FraudEliminator, please report any fraudulent sites you find back to us. Let's stop these scammers in their tracks.

Greetings From The Heart And Soul
Greetings From The Heart And Soul: "
To Greetings From The Heart And Soul
From Sandra Lewis Pringle
I guess that my gift of writing began when I was a child, and first jotted down a few lines in rhyme, many years ago.
As the years went by, I soon began to fill notebooks with poems, thoughts, and various prayers, which I would occasionally write for special gatherings, that I shared with mostly family.
Several years ago, however, I was going through a period of grief and mourning. It was a low time of my life. Until this time, I had never realized the need for my sharing the gift which God had so generously shared with me. I use His words, so He deserves the credit entirely.
On one particular night, Our Lord Jesus came into my room. He asked me to come with Him. I followed Him into a church. We stood at the front of this church together, overlooking the congregation seated.
The congregation looked normal, everyone clean and neatly dressed. As I turned to look at Him, He told me to look again at the congregation.
As I turned my eyes back upon the people, they could not believe what they were seeing. Where the women's blouses and dresses were fastened over their hearts, and where the men's shirts and ties were covering theirs, there appeared to be open and gaping wounds. Their hearts were all bleeding.
I gasped at the sight, and I turned to look at Our Lord Jesus. As I did so, He said, 'My people are hurting and are in pain.' He told me that He had given me the words of encouragement and comfort for His people, and He wanted me to share.
This has been several years ago, and I began to send notes, cards, and to some, even poems, to all that I knew who I thought, needed to be encouraged. Then, one morning, He led me to the computer.
From that day until this, I have been online every si"
